My Invites!

So, I thought I'd share with some pictures the process I went through to create my wedding invites last year.  First, having ventured a little bit into free lance wedding invitation design, I have to say, having yourself as a client is the BEST.  Decisions made in my head.  Done.  See something....yes...no.  Plus, I had a general idea of what I wanted to do....I knew at the bare minimum, I wanted to hand stamp my invites.  That's right.  Hand stamp.  And I did.  Thank goodness for Etsy and the connection to so many amazing craftsmen/creatives!  Word to the wise: if you're planning a wedding, Etsy and Google Docs are your best friends.  Anyway, I found a woman on Etsy to take whatever I could design and turn it into a stamp.  Behold, the native artwork:

I sent the above to her (not the boarder, that's the paper), and she made this for me:

Okay, and just because this made me so happy, this picture was from my family shower; my mom and aunt decorated the mantel of this cabin we rented for the weekend with family weddings pictures, past and present, as well as some of our engagement pictures and our invite. =)

Well, I think that's about it.  I do have to admit, hand stamping 250 invites did get tiring (and blister inducing!), but I'm super satisfied with how they turned out, and still love looking at them.  Hope you guys do as well. =)

Anni!

Okay, so I don't really know what the direction of this blog is....but I do want to try and highlight various design things that I do.  Soooo....since yesterday was my one year anniversary, I think I should post some of the design collateral that I created for our wedding.  We'll start with the save the date, and a little ditty I did for my Facebook profile yesterday....perhaps tomorrow I'll get some of the invite stuff up....but for now, for those of you who read this, enjoy the following! =)

Care Net Conference

I think for the most part this blog will be dedicated to my free lance projects and things I see online that are just, well, "too cool for school."  But I thought, since it is important to me, that I would share a quick and easy flier I put together for my day job's annual conference.  I really love this job, and I love what we're about, and I'm really excited for our conference this year.  You all should check it out.  It's going to be pretty sweet!

Cristina Graduating

My dear friend is graduating next month with her masters!  Last week she asked if I'd have time to quickly turn around an announcement postcard for her; below is what I came up with.  Both of us are tickled with how it came out.

Announcement Front Side

Announcement Back Side
Moments like these are when I'm sad I live on the east coast, while the majority of my closest friends live on the west.  I'll be celebrating with you in spirit CP!

First Post

I read so many wonderful blogs; who link to so many wonderful things.  Not that I have anything particular to add to this community, but for whatever reason, the inner blogger in me is coming out tonight.  We'll see if I decide to make this URL public any time soon....or perhaps it'll just fade into the background as yet another project I've started...and never finished. ;)
